Gerick Mouton, a Mechanical Engineer by profession, is a global metals and mining professional with 25 years’ experience in strategic mine development, capital raising, leadership, organizational establishment and execution of multifaceted capital-intensive mining and mineral projects.
He held senior and executive management positions within established international listed mining companies and engineering consultancies.
Gerick’s work experience includes countries like Botswana, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Madagascar, South Africa and Indonesia. He has work extensively with interested and affected parties and other stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted development of large-scale projects in challenging locations. His interaction with multicultural stakeholders over his career has enhanced his knowledge with regards to environmental, social and government (ESG) challenges facing new mining projects.
Gerick had the opportunity to work closely with the Founder and Chairman of Ivanhoe Mines, Robert Friedland, for nine years where he gained unique experience to high level strategic project development scenarios, challenging project development expectations, partnership negotiations, project marketing and the dynamic stakeholder relationships throughout the project life cycle.
