Lisa Smith brings extensive metallurgical and R&D experience to the Lifezone team having worked in Canada, South Africa and Australia as an operational metallurgist for various large and small metal producers.
As a project manager for commercial metallurgical laboratories, Lisa was responsible for design and execution of testwork programs and pilot plants.
Lisa has been Senior Metallurgist of Lifezone since 2012 and is responsible for management of Lifezone testwork programs, feasibility studies and R&D initiatives.
Lisa’s deep expertise spans across the recovery of copper, nickel and cobalt from various feedstocks (limonite, laterite, sulphide) using a range of leaching methods (HPAL, POX, BiOX, heap leach) for production of saleable products (cathodes, sulphates, MSP, MHP). She also has experience in processing of PGMs, gold, silver, uranium and lithium.
